Adhering to Current Legislation
Under current regulations, rental or sold properties must be fitted with interconnected systems. These smoke alarms are designed to alert all units when one starts going off. This gives individuals more time to leave the building before the fire escalates.
From January 2022, all smoke alarms in properties intended for sale, lease or re-lease must adhere to the following:
- Be less than 10 years old
- Be photoelectric (AS 3786-2014)
- Be interconnected with the rest of the alarms
- Be fully functional under testing
- Not contain an ionisation sensor
- Must be installed on all floors & in all bedrooms & connecting hallways
- Powered by non-removable 10-year batteries or hardwired
All other properties have until 2027 to adhere to this new legislation. Give us a call to book.
